Funeral services for Arthur C. Friar, Sr., 80, of 220 W. 71st St., who died Thursday after a long illness, will be held at 4 p.m. today at the Rose-Neath Funeral Home with Dr. Billy O. Smith, pastor of Southside Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Centuries Memorial Park.
A retired employee of Libbey-Owens Ford Co., Mr. Friar was born in Toccoa, Ga. and had lived in Shreveport for 40 years. He was a World War I veteran, a member of the American Legion [Cedar Grove Post No. 6] and a Baptist.
Survivors include two sons, Gordon Ray Friar and Arthur C. Friar Jr., both of Shreveport, and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be John R. Davis Jr., H. D. Reed, John Robert Whyte, A. J. Petrus, W. F. Pennington and J. L. Simpson.
