Walter N. "Buddy" O'Roark Sr., 83, a former resident of Shreveport, died at 2:55 a.m. Friday in Lafayette after a lengthy illness.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Forest Park Cemetery with Dr. D. L. Dykes, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home's Marshall Street Chapel.

A native of Spindletop, Texas, Mr. O'Roark had been a resident of Lafayette for the past two years and previously lived in Shreveport for 43 years.
