Joseph Carlton Ruttman, 64, passed away on April 11, 2009 at 6am at Overland Park Medical Center. Funeral Services will be held 10am Wednesday, April 15, at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond, OK interment to follow at Gracelawn Cemetery. A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held on April 18 at Cambridge Church held at Blue Valley Middle School, 5101 W. 163rd Terrace, Overland Park, KS 66085. Joe served in the Army for two years in the Medical Corp during the Vietnam War, and received an honorable discharge for his dedication and service to his country. After his return home, he joined the ROCK Island Railroad for 18 years, before he moved to the Kansas City area, where for the past 24 years he was a loyal and dedicated Manager for Reclamation Services, at the Erman Corp. Last year he made his first t.v. appearance on National Geographic's "Break it Down" for his company. Joe loved making people laugh and being ornery. His sense of humor and kind heart will be deeply missed by all his friends and family. As a loving husband and beloved father, he is survived by his wife Judy and daughters, Stacy Ruttman and Shawna Meyer one grandchild, James Keys his father and step-mother, J.C. and Marie Ruttman one brother, Jerry Ruttman and his two dogs, Keo and Sierra. Joe was preceded in death by his son, Joey Carlton Ruttman his mother, Nina Goddard and his sister, Clara Marie.
