Josie was married to James West Wilson on 2 Sep 1891. When James was asked why he had not married before this he said he had never met anyone he wanted to marry until he met Josie. They had four boys Robert Whannel, Harry Prescott, William Henry, James West, Jr., and Edwin Joseph. Two little girls died young, Nellie and Audie Maude. Another girl Marguerite grew to adulthood. The children were all born in Missoula, Montana. Shortly after the last baby was born they moved to Inglewood, Calif.
