Obituary from the Springfield Union, Morning Edition, Friday, Oct. 17, 1969, page 29;
Leonidas F. Gonyea, 65, of 132 Myrtle St., Indian Orchard, died Wednesday in Holyoke Soldiers' Home. Mr. Gonyea was born in Ludlow, July 11, 1904, and had lived in Indian Orchard most of his life. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. He leaves one brother, Alexander of Yonkers, NY, and one sister, Mrs. Theodore Mills of Indian Orchard. The funeral will be held Saturday at Ratell funeral home, with a high Mass of requiem in St. Matthew's Church. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Calling hours will be tonight and Friday afternoon and night.
