Mrs. Pirret Is Stricken - Prominent Club Leader Had Statewide Acquaintance -- Mrs. Peter K. Pirret, 68, who had been active for many years in women's club work in Tacoma, holding offices of distinction several times, died Tuesday at a local hospital, where she had been ill a short time. She was a native of Rockford, Ill., and came to Tacoma in 1908 with her husband, of the P. K. Pirret Book & Stationery company, and they observed their 48th wedding anniversary in 1942 here. The home is at 98th and East D sreets.
Mrs. Pirret was a member of the Immanuel Presbyterian church, president of the Aurora club of Tacoma, was former state parliamentarian of the Federation of Women's clubs, former president of the P.E.O., Tacoma, and was an officer in the D.A.R. of Tacoma and a charter member of the University Coterie club of Seattle. Through these affiliations Mrs. Pirret had established a wide acquaintance in the city and state.
She is survived, aside from her husband, by a daughter, Mrs. Arthur G. Anderson; sons, Gerald K. and Harold R., and grandchildren, Arthur Anderson and Patty Lou, Gerald and Peter Douglas Pirret, all of Tacoma. Funeral announcement will be made by the C. C. PIRRET - Funeral services for Mrs. Peter K. Pirret will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the C.C. Mellinger company chapel, the Rev. Harold B. Long presiding; cremation will follow. [TNT, Fri, Apr 16, 1943, p. 27].
