Founder, The Penland School of Crafts in Penland, Avery County, North Carolina. "Miss Lucy" was assisted by her Brother, Rev. Fr. Rufus Morgan in the school's development. The story is told in her book Gift from the Hills.
The Penland School is world renown for teaching ancient crafts, from quilting to wood working to blacksmithing.
