FERRIDAY, La., March [?] (Special) - Funeral services were held in Manifest for Mrs. M. J. Maples, 74, of near Clayton who died after a stroke of [illegible]. She was a member of the Baptist [church?] for the past 57 years and was known and loved by many [people?] in the locality.
She is survived by her husband, W. M. [sic N. M.] Maples; seven daughters, Mrs. W. C. Horton of Clayton, Mrs. N. L. Fields, St. Joseph, Mrs. R. B. Tarver, Clayton, Mrs. W. P. Bishop, Clayton, Mrs. Jesse Reeves, Parksdale, Ark., Mrs. J. E. Johnson, Clayton, and four sons, John Maples, Harrisonburg; Bert Maples, St. Joseph; Bullard Maples and Albert Maples of Clayton.
