Germany Marriages 1558-1919:
Name: Georgius Frondorf
Gender: Male
Marriage Date: 8 Sep 1807
Marriage Place: Gau-Bickelheim, Hessen, Germany
Father: Petri Frondorf

FHL Film Number: 997331

Children with Catharina:
1) Elisabetha Frondorf (b. 1808)
2) Phillipus J Frondorf (b. 1810), m: Mary Eva Mehl.
3) Christina Frondorf (b. 1812)
4) Henricus Josephus Frondorf (1816-1840), died soon after the family arrived in NY.
5) Francisus Frondorf (1819-1908), m: Mary Elizabeth Koelling.

Son Phillipus came first to America in 1837. The remainder of the family followed sometime in 1840, staying only a short while in NY. After the death of son Henry, Georgius moved his family to OH, settling in Hamilton Co. Soon after they all began using Americanized names.

George was a shoemaker and also owned a farm, but some accounts state he never seemed content living in America. He died at age 73 years, having spent the last two years of his life living with son Frank.

The Frondorf Family Farm was located at 6835 Bridgetown Rd, Parcel ID# 55002820229 Vol.: 10, Green Twp Hamilton Co OH, 39.1523361206055 -84.6743011474609. There are no longer any graves, just houses.

"History of Hamilton County Ohio", 1881, Pg 307:
"George Frondorf was born in Germany, came from that country to Ohio, and made settlement in Green township in the year 1840. Here he died at the age of seventy-three.

"F. Frondorf came with his father, and has lived in this township since 1840. He is the owner of the largest single tract of land lying in the township two hundred and forty-three acres. In 1847 he was married to Mary Frondorf, who is still living. His daughter, Mary, and son, George, both reside here, and Caroline is at St. Mary's Convent, Cincinnati."

Note: Birth records of all the children of George have been located on Ancestry. Although the book by Henry A Ford, "History of Hamilton County Ohio", on page Pg 311, Harrison Twp, lists "Christopher" as a son of George, the birth record states the child was a female named Christina.
