Wife Elsie Destromp (married Jun 19, 1939, St Thomas Church, Underhill Center, Vermont)
Cropseyville- Orie E Barkyoumb, 75 of Cropseyville, a construction retiree, died Monday at his residence after a long illness.

Born in Fairfax, Vt., and educated in Vermont school systems, he was the son of the late Charles Francis Barkyoumb and Emma Gilbeau.

Mr Barkyoumb retired in 1979 form Local 452 in Troy where he had been a contractor for more than 25 years. Before that he worked for Pratt Whitney in East Hartford. He was a communicant of St Francis DeSales Church in Troy. Mr Barkyoumb was a US Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater. He was a member of the Rev Francis Kelly Chapter, Disabled-American Veterans in Troy, the Wyantskill Post, American Legion and the National Rifle Association.

Surviors include his wife, Elsie E Destromp Barkyoumb; a son Michael O Barkyoumb of Waterford, Conn, three daughters, Barbara Shuhart of Berlin, Jeannette McGrath of Pittsfield, Mass, and Lorrie Benjamin of Troy; three brothers, Wilbur Barkyoumb of Southwick, Mass, Wellington Barkyoumb of Enfield, Conn, and Maxie Lee Barkyoumb of Tennessee; six sisters, Melvina Doner of Underhill, Vt, Matilda Destromp of Burlington Vt, Marjorie Destromp of Underhill, Vt, Marlene Carney of Terrington, Conn., Joanne Chmicliski of Rockville, Conn. and Jacqueline White of Tamp, Fla., and eight grandchildren.

A military funeral with soldiers from Fort Drum will be held at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday form the Morris-Stebbins-Miner &Sanvidge Funeral Home, 312 Hoosick Street, Troy, and at 9:30 a.m at St Francis De Sales Church. Burial will be in the Oakwood Cemetery, Troy.

Calling hours are from 2-4 and 709 pm today at the funeral home.
