I'm feeling very sentimental with memories
of my Mama. It's been over 50 years since I last
saw her, however I can still remember the
softness of her face. Mama will be forever
young and always in my heart.

Evelyn was the beautiful daughter and youngest child of William E."Bill" and Mollie Taylor Blankenship Burtt. Granddaughter of William and Sarah Blankenship.

1.married Mack Akins, Westville, OK.
2.married Virgle Allen, Tulsa, OK.

Nettie Evelyn Burtt was nicknamed "Dude" by her family. She always went by the name Evelyn or Dude, because she did not like the name Nettie.

The Burtt children were a close knit family. Evelyn lost her mother at age 13. Her sister Lizzie became like a mother to her and always her best friend. They had a very special sister bond.

The sisters were blessed with musical talent and played by ear. Lizzie played the piano and "Dude" played the guitar. They wrote and recorded many songs together. (Their records were recorded on vinyl 33 1/3 rpm). A favorite song was "I Kneel and Talk it over with Him".

They attended the same church together, along with their children. They made some of the best fried pies for the church bake sales. Evelyn was an excellent cook, loved to crochet, sew and draw.

She loved "Elvis" ... so much she named her son Aaron, in honor of Mr. Presley.

Like many of us, Dude didn't always make the best choices in life, but she did the best that she knew.

She will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, aunt and friend, that left us much too soon.

Mother
It is a wonderful thing, A Mother;
Other folks can love you,
But only your mother Understands.
She works for you,Looks after you,
Loves you, forgives you Anything you may do,
And then the only thing Bad she ever does to you,
Is to die and leave you.
