MATTHEWS, Gladys Shell, 95, a resident of Troy, AL, died Sunday, June 11, 2000 at Edge Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2000 beginning at 2 p.m. from Good Hope Baptist Church with Rev. Clifford Matthews, Rev. Paul Matthews and Rev. Ray Foreman officiating. Interment will follow in Goodhope Baptist Church Cemetery, Troy, AL with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Ernestine (James Edward) Chadwick of Montgomery, Jane (Dr. Earl M.) Jeffre, of Fayetteville, TN and Patsy (William O.) Powell of Troy; son, Rev. Clifford (Peggy Galloway) Matthews, Tarentum; 2 sisters, Maymie Chambliss, Brushey Creek, AL and Eunice (Willie) Perdue of Greenville, AL; 18 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren and sister-in-law, Sara Frances Shell of Montgomery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Northside Baptist Church Building Fund.
