Mr. Mize was born in Hart County, Georgia, April 05, 1934, son of the late Otha Cone and Quillie Winn Mize. He was retired from Tenneco Automotive Equipment and was a member of the Holly Springs Baptist Church. Mr. Mize was a United States Army Veteran.
Survivors include wife, Virginia Pierce Mize of Royston, Georgia; son, Pierce Mize of Royston, Georgia; grandchildren and spouse, Luke and Cassie Mize of Bowman, Georgia, Emily Mize of Carrolton, Georgia, and Issac Mize of Royston, Georgia; brothers, Alvin Mize of the Vanna Community, Arnold Mize and Jep Mize of the Holly Springs Community; sisters, Lettie Roberts of Tignall, Georgia, and Lois Mize of Bowman, Georgia.
Preceded in death by daughter, Rhonda Mize Compton; brothers, James, Julius, Lee, Ernest, Warren, and Wilbur Mize; sisters, Dora Whitmire and Alice Todd.
Funeral services for Mr. Mize will be at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, August 04, 2010 at the Holly Springs Baptist Church in Bowman with Rev. Mike Westbrook officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The body is at the Pruitt Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening August 3, 2010,. The body will be placed in the church at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday morning August 4, 2010,. The family is at the home.
