John Edinger Linch served as a Brigadier General in the United States Marine Corps Reserve.
He was a son of Edward P. and Mabel E. Linch.
He served during World War II.
He enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps on April 7, 1930.
He served with the 1st Marine Division for a substantial part of his career in the Marines.
He received his discharge from the Marine Corps on June 4, 1946 at the U.S. Naval Base in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
He was originally from Waterbury, Connecticut.
He was a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal.
He was interred in the Gettysburg National Cemetery on September 29, 1967.
