Reverend Leonard Crowder, 92, of Barling, died November 19, 2009 in Barling.

He was a retired Free Will Baptist Minister and a member of the Bethlehem Free Will Baptist Church of Van Buren. He served in many churches in our area over the year but served as Pastor of the Walnut Street Free Will Baptist Church for over 30 years. He served in the Civil Conservation Corp and was an active member of the Ministerial Alliance of Fort Smith for many years.

He is survived by his wife Aline Crowder of Barling; two daughters, Mary Jo Gaessler of Fort Smith and Jo Ann Granger of San Antonio, TX; two step daughters, Brenda Greenwood and Billie Ann Howard both of Oklahoma; one son, David Lynn Crowder of Pittsburg, KS; one step son, Gary Hassell of Fort Smith; two sisters, Hazel Crandall of Roswell, New Mexico and Catherine Helton of CA; seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his first wife Beatrice Crowder.

Funeral service was Monday, November 23, 2009 at the Edwards Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Stigler Cemetery in Stigler, OK all under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home.
