Lewis Page Bickford was son of Alvah and Nancy B. (Cotton) BICKFORD.
He was married to Emma Grace Fox, June 1, 1851, and had four children by 1889; there was Ina A, Grace L, Annie O., and John Alvah. Grace Lula m. 05 Dec. 1920 in New Hampton to Oscar Lincoln Merrow, son of Daniel G. and Sarah (Moody) Merrow; (O.L. d. before 1930). Annie Olive, d. Feb. 9, 1916, New Hampton, single, a school teacher. John A. mar. Lillian F. (unk). In 1930 New Hampton, Grace L. was living with her sister, Ina Bickford.

Rev. Lewis P. experienced the new birth in 1857, received license in 1868; graduated from the New Hampton Instutition in 1869 [later Cobb Divinity School, then Bates College]. He received ordination June 31, 1871. His pastorates were in Northwood, NH, 1870-1875 N. Scituate, RI, 1875-1877; Westford, CT, 1877-81; Scriba, NY, 1881-83; Scotsburg, NH, 1883-86; and at Wixon, Mich, from April. 1886 to --?.
Lewis P. died suddenly, "dropped dead, probably from heat."

The following is from the Alumni Catalog of New Hampton Literary and Biblical Institution, [formerly] a Free Will Baptist school located in New Hampton, NH:
Rev. L.(ewis) P.(age), son of Alvah and Nancy B. (Cotton) Bickford, was born at Centre Harbor, N. H., Oct. 4, 1844. He experienced the new birth in 1857: received license in 1868; graduated from the New Hampton Literary and Biblical Institution in 1869, continuing one year in the Biblical School, and received ordination June 30, 1871. His pastorates were at Northwood, N. H., 1870-75 : N. Scituate, R. I., 1875-77; Westford, Ct, 1877-81 ; Scriba, N. Y., 1881-83 ; Scottsburg, N. Y., 1883-86, Wixom, Mich., from April, 1886 to 1891, Davison Station, Michigan (April, 1891 - April 1893) and Hardwick, Vermont, 1893 - 1896." He occasionally returned to the family home in New Hampton, New Hampshire where he was, variously pastor of the Free Will Baptist Church (now the New Hampton Community Church), and chaplain at New Hampton Literary and Biblical Institution, a Free Will Baptist affiliated school, where he also served as trustee."
He left a diary which contained some of the daily happenings in his life, and his ministry.
