Nicholas Hale Anderson was born on February 3rd, 1985, to A.L. Anderson and Eleanora Dachler. He graduated from Bonanza High School in Las Vegas, in June of 2003. Nicholas joined the Marine Corps in September of 2003, and achieved the rank of Lance Corporal. In early July 2004, he arrived in Iraq. He was attached to Weapons Company, 1st Battalion 4th Marines, 11th Marine Expeditionary Force. The incident which caused his death occurred on Friday, November 12th, 2004, while serving on a nighttime combat patrol in Mahmudiyah, Iraq, approx. 12 miles south of Baghdad. His Humvee rolled over. Nicholas is survived by his mother, Eleanor, His father, A.L. Anderson, his step-mother Lisa, and his ten year old brother, Jackson. Also survived by his fiancee, Amanda Barnicoat, a member of the US Air Force, stationed in Japan. Nicholas was buried with full military honors in Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura, CA.
