Pvt. U.S. Army, World War II-Pvt. Ade died in the line of duty on 8-2-1944 while serving with the Infantry near St. Lo France.

He is the son of Mr. Guy William & Mrs. Sue Alice {Gerstner} Ade of Peoria, Illinois, now of Moline, Illinois, and he graduated from Moline H.S. in 1939, and was accepted to attend Bradley College as an Art Major, and was well known in some Art Circles in Peoria, and was in the service by September 7, 1942. There is one other brother, Ralph Ade of Moline, Illinois.

Awards: Purple Heart Medal, Combat Infantry Badge, American Campaign Medal, European Campaign Medal with Two Battle Stars, Army Good Conduct Medal.

Footnote: His cousin, SSgt. Harold E. Simon of Peoria, was killed in action on July 7, 1944 while serving in France.
