William Raymond Williams, 103, of Columbia died Sunday, Oct. 17, 2010, at Parkside Manor in Columbia.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Parker Funeral Service, 22 N. Tenth St., Columbia, Mo.
Mr. Williams was born Aug. 17, 1907, near Rocheport to Joseph T. and Lona Buckler Williams. He married Lucy Lee Purdy on May 7, 1932, in Fulton; she preceded him in death.
Mr. Williams attended Wilhite Country School.
He was a farmer and worked for the Special Road District, Stephens Publishing Co. as a book binder and later as a handyman for Mr. Klifton Altis.
He enjoyed gardening and playing cards. Mr. Williams was a former member of the Elks Lodge, I.O.O.F. Lodge and the Eagles Lodge.
He is survived by two grandchildren, Annette Marie Ray of Shelby, Ala., and Michele Angela Palmer of Springfield; one great-grandchild, Michelle Lee Smith of Afton; two great-great-grandchildren, Veronica Leigh Smith and Isabelle Marie Smith of Afton; and a niece, Delores Cornell of Columbia.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; an infant son; one sister, Tressie Williams; two brothers, Ralph Williams and Tilford Williams; and one niece, Cora Lee Cragin.
