Whit Alexander, 91, of 1110 Marshall Road, Greenwood, died Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002, at Wesley Commons in Greenwood.
He was the son of the late S.A. Alexander and Ella Moore Alexander. He served four years in the U.S. Marine Corp. He retired from the Metropolitan Police Force in Washington, D.C. after 23 years, and was a member of Simpsonville First Baptist Church, where he was an active member of the Men's Bible Class for 40 years.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Alexander of Greenwood; two daughters, Anita Cebulski of Lakeland, Fla. and Sue Jaffe of Greenwood; one brother, M.O. Alexander of Simpsonville; one sister, Lily Comminetti of Simpsonville; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, Whit Alexander Jr.
Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 3, 2003 from 9:45 till 10:45 a.m. at Simpsonville First Baptist Church.
Service will be held 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 3, 2003 at Simpsonville First Baptist Church Chapel.
Interment will be held at Graceland East Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Connie Maxwell Children's Home, Maxwell Ave., Greenwood, SC 29646.
Family is at the residence at 1438 West Georgia Road, Simpsonville. - Cannon Funerals and Cremations, Simpsonville.
