Baylus Sr. married Martha E. Sanders in Texas,November 28, 1870.Baylus married third wife Mary Elizabeth Lindsey June 23 1872.He married fourth wife Elgivy Kelly in Cherokee County, Texas, May 8, 1889.

March 1864 detailed as teamster at Capt John Lauderdale's office; Jun 6, 1963 in CSA Hospital Jackson, MS debilitas; Captured near Atlanta, GA Aug 3, 1864, POW at Louisville KY transferred to Camp Chase Aug 13, 1864; Mar 18, 1865 transferred to Point Lookout.
