Edmond Chiasson, 86
ATTLEBORO - Mr. Edmond J. "Joe" Chiasson, of Attleboro, a former longtime Waltham resident, died suddenly on Tuesday, Oct. 10, 2006. He was 86 years old.
Joe leaves his wife, Elizabeth "Joyce" (Seebold) Chiasson; his children, Joseph Chiasson and his wife Betsy of North Attleboro, Margaret A. Potter and her husband Robert of North Attleboro and Marco Island, Fla., Kathleen M. Dunn and her husband William of Englewood, Fla., and Mary E. Hartman and her husband Robert of Lincoln; two brothers, Thomas Chiasson of Westminster, Calif. and Richard Chiasson of Bellingham; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
His daughter, Elizabeth A. Marquis, died in 1999. He was predeceased by his siblings, James, Ernest, Vincent, the Rev. Ronald Chiasson, OMI, and Alice Lemerand.
Joe was born in Cheticamp, Nova Scotia, Canada, a son of the late Thomas and Cecelia (Delaney) Chiasson. He lived most of his life in Waltham before moving to the retirement community at Canterbury Woods in Attleboro in January.
He was a lieutenant for the Waltham Police Department, retiring in 1984.
During World War II and the Korean War, he served with the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was a member of the Retired Massachusetts Police Association and the former St. Joseph Church in Waltham. Joe had been a parishioner at Sacred Heart Church in Waltham.
