Son of Pio Amos Basilio and Adoracion Pascasio Lucero, Bert was born in San Antonio, Zambales, Philippines. He joined the US Navy in the 1960's. In August 1969, He married Jacqueline Terry Ard in Mobile, Alabama. The have three children together. After being stationed in Jacksonville and Homestead, and Pensacola, Florida, he and Terry retired in Cantonment, Florida, just outside of Pensacola. Bert died from a heart attack as he and Terry were driving to the beach to watch the sunset on Mother's Day 2003.
