A. W. Bugbee Dead
Arthur W. Bugbee, who had lived in Lyon County for the past 42 years, died at 9:30 o'clock this morning at the home of his son, Everett K. Bugbee, 10 miles southwest of Emporia.
Mr. Bugbee was born in Plymouth, N. H., February 12, 1831. when a boy he moved with his parents to Lakeport, N. H. where he grew up and afterwards was engaged in the mercantile business for many years. He was married in Lake Village, N. H., to Miss Pamelia Sawyer in 1861. In April, 1878, Mr. and Mrs. Bugbee came to Kansas and settled on the Bugbee farm, southwest of Emporia.
Mr. Bugbee is survived by a brother, Horace O. Bugbee of Pawtucket, R. I., and two sons, Ervin L. Bugbee and Everett K. Bugbee, both of Phenis Mound neighborhood. He was a member of the Boston Church.
The funeral services will be held at the Upper Dry Creek Church, Sunday morning, at 11 o'clock. Rev. J. Calvin Jones will conduct the services. The pall-bearers will be the six grandsons of Mr. Bugbee. Interment will be in the Upper Dry Creek Cemetery.
Note. His wife Pamelia Sawyer & daughter, Annie, died and was buried in New Hampshire. His 2nd wife, Sarah also died & buried in NH. Arthur came to Kansas with his two sons.
