George A. Aholtz, 79, died April 25, 1999.
Born in St. Joseph, Mo., he retired in 1967 as a first sergeant from the U.S. Marine Corps after 27 years of service and was a veteran of World War II and Korea.
The widower of Dorothy L. Aholtz, he is survived by a son, David G. Aholtz and his wife, Rosemarie F. Aholtz, of Glenn Allen, Va.; four sisters, Mary Harrison, Virginia Morris and Dorothy Hawman, all of St. Joseph, Mo., and Libby Patton of Medford, Ore; three grandchildren, Jason G. Aholtz, Janet L. Coppins and Ellen E. Coppins.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, by the Rev. Ernest L. Trueblood. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Quantico National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Davis Corner Rescue Squad.
