MAYVILLE - Marilyn Christine Furman, 78, of 4600 Route 60, Unit 22, Gerry, N.Y., formerly of Davis Road, Mayville, died Friday (April 2, 2010) in Gerry.
She was born September 8, 1931, in Jamestown, N.Y., the daughter of the late John Arthur and Signe Amelia Seaquist Gustavson.
She had been the office manager for International Order of the King's, Daughter's and Sons at Chautauqua.
Marilyn belonged to King's, Daughter's and Son's at Chautauqua, the Chautauqua Choir, Hurlbut Memorial Community Church in Chautauqua, Jamestown Choral Society, Evan's Skate Club and the Chautauqua Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Marilyn enjoyed knitting, embroidery, music and accompanying her husband Wayne on the piano.
She is survived by her husband, L.G. Wayne Furman Jr., whom she married December 19, 1953, in the First United Methodist Church in Jamestown; three children: Cynthia Martin, Robert Furman and Mary McCloskey; eight grandchildren: Gwenn Davis, Jerome Martin, Peter Furman, Kate Furman, Julia Furman, Liesl McCloskey, Collin McCloskey and Kirsten McCloskey; one great-grandchild, Rylee Marie Davis; siblings Harry Gustavson, Ralph Gustavson, Carolyn Johnson her twin, Alice Wells and Darwin Gustavson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Einar Gustavson, Eric Gustavson, Roy Gustavson, Bertil Gustavson and Dorisann Rinaldo.
