Former Alaska resident J. Robert "Bob" Prator, 74, died Jan. 21 at Wadley Regional Medical Center in Texarkana, Texas. Services were held at East Funeral Home Chapel in Texarkana, Texas, with interment in East Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Prator was born Oct. 6, 1919, in Queen City, Texas, and moved to Alaska in 1941. He worked as a conductor on the Alaska Railroad for 30 years. He left Alaska in 1971 and moved to Texarkana, Ark. Mr. Prator was a member of Pioneers of Alaska, Good Sam Club, Camera Club, and the United Methodist Church in Alaska and Arkansas.
Mr. Prator is survived by his brother, Harry of Anchorage; sister, Merle Stucky of Nashville, Ark.; sister-in-law, Frances of Anchorage; and many nieces and nephews.
