Fleda Foster, daughter of Emmett and Lottie (Hilton) Blades, was born July 24, 1912, in Barry County, Mo., and departed this life May 10, 2007, in Mercy Villa, Springfield, Mo., at the age of 94 years, nine months and 16 days.
Fleda was a lifelong resident of the Cape Fair area and was a member of Cape Fair Church of Christ. She was a charter member of Cape Fair Homemakers for over 40 years.
Fleda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ernest; three brothers, Charles, Andrew and Edman Blades; and two great-grandchildren.
Survivors include:two daughters, Wilma May and her husband, Dennis, of Galena, and Beverly Patrick of Cape Fair; six grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 14 in Manlove-Stumpff Chapel with O.D. Cope and Gary Stumpff officiating. Burial will be in Cape Fair Cemetery under the direction of Manlove-Stumpff Funeral Home, Crane. Visitation is 3 to 5 p.m. today, May 13 in the funeral home.
