Killed by the fall of a safe in a stairwell at the First National bank.

"Fatal Accident at Tyrone
Horace G. Elder, who until Tuesday was a railway mail clerk on the Tyrone and Clearfiled branch of the Pennsylvania railroad, was killed yesterday at Tyrone while assisting to hoist a large safe to a second floor of a building. Mr. Elder on Tuesday resigned his position to take charge of the plant of the Burley poster company, of Tyrone. His wife and six children survive."
