Mrs. Laura B. Fielder
Dies at home in Howe
Howe - Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Howe Baptist Church for Mrs. Laura Belle Fielder, 88. She died Sunday at her home in Howe. She suffered a stroke about a week ago.
The Rev. Maurice Clayton of Howe, Baptist minister, conducted the service. Assisting was the Rev. G.G. Burnett of Gunter.
Pallbearers were T.E. Fielder Jr., Charles Ford, Johnnie Strawn, Vester Fielder, James Earl Fielder, and Lewis Fielder, all grandsons of the deceased.
Burial was in the Cannon Cemetery, directed by Barrett Funeral Home of Sherman. Mrs Fielder was born in Hickman County, Kentucky, January 23, 1863. She came to Texas in 1878 and two years later settled in Grayson County. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Dudley. On September 9, 1880, she was married to S.T. Fielder. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters; Mrs. Lucy Ford of Howe, and Mrs Annie Strawn of Abilene; three sons, Ed Fielder of Gunter, Ben Fielder of Blue Ridge and Harvey Fielder of Denison; two sisters, Mrs. Sallie Fielder of Whitesboro and Mrs Fannie Sudberry of Silverton; 22 grandchildren and 55 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
