Mr. John Bell, who was well-known in Columbia, died at the home of his son-in-law, Mr. Clarence Montgomery, Ozark, last Saturday night. He was in his 86th year, an ex-Federal soldier, and a member of the Methodist church. He was the father of Mr. Kelly Bell, this place.
His remains were brought to Columbia, Sunday afternoon, and the funeral services were conducted at the church by Rev. W.C. Christie, Jessie L. Murrell, and R.V. Bennett. At the close of the services, all that was mortal of this good man was laid to rest in the city cemetery. Our sympathy is with the stricken family.
