BRANN, EILEEN DORIS November 17, 1921 - October 9, 2006 Our beloved mother passed from this world on October 9, 2006, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Quinter, KS to Clara and Clyde Reinecker, one of eight children. Her family moved to Hood River, Oregon where she graduated from high school. The family moved to Boise, Idaho where she met her future husband, George Brann. After a two-week courtship, they were married in Winnemucca, Nevada. They moved numerous times as George was reassigned by the U.S. Air Force, finally settling in Riverside, CA in 1956. They moved to Bakersfield in 1998. Eileen was a wonderful homemaker, accomplished seamstress, cook, and avid reader. She loved flowers and enjoyed gardening for many years. She took lessons and learned to play the organ and to paint with oils. She loved to play golf and bridge, and also was active for many years in the congregation of United Methodist Church in Riverside. She had a wonderful sense of humor. Her family was all-important to her and her final message to us was to "Love your family". Eileen was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, George Brann. She is survived by her children Karen Sweaney of Bakersfield, Terry Brann of Gardiner, ME and Pamela Poulsen of Bozeman, MT; grandchildren Laura Kaspar of Bakersfield, Marianne Walson of Benicia, CA, Dane Poulsen of Colorado Springs, CO, Seth Poulsen of Bozeman, MT, Richard Brann of Topsham, ME; six great-grandchildren; and by two brothers and a sister. Graveside services will be at 1:00 pm, October 20, 2006 at the National Cemetery in Riverside, CA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Disease Association of Kern County, 5500 Olive Drive, Bakersfield, CA 93308.
