"DEATH OF AN OLD SOLDIER
Benjamin Uriah, a relative of Alderman Uriah, 82 years of age, and a soldier of the war of 1812, was buried yesterday. He was born in Delaware county and served in the War of 1812, in Captain Sorril's company, and was the first man to erect banks on the Schuylkill river. He was buried from the house of his son-in-law, William Nelson at Shoemakersville, near Chester, and was interred in the old Swede's Church graveyard on Darby road. He had an extensive acquaintance in Philadelphia among the old class of residents."
