"Death of a Veteran of 1812
"The death of John Stallman, one of the vetrans of the war of 1812, occurred on Monday at his home in Chestnut Hill. He was in his 99th year. At the breaking out of the war of 1812 he enlisted and remained in service until the close. He was the last surviving member of Captain John Huston's company and presidenct of the Association of the War of 1812 until it was dissolved by the death of nearly all the members. He was born in Chestnut Hill, his father being a Hessian who came to this country to fight with the British in the Revolutionary War."
