MADELYN STRINGFELLOW CLAYTON
CLAYTON 85, of Claremont and formerly Provo, Utah, passed away May 27, 2010.
She was born in Draper, Utah on January 19, 1925 to Marvin Day and Ruth Sorensen Stringfellow. She was the third of four children.
She is survived by her husband, James Dean Clayton and three children, James Gary Clayton, Susan Clayton Zylstra, and Michael Dean Clayton, her brother Val Stringfellow, and nine grandchildren.
Madelyn married Dean Clayton August 3, 1945 in the Logan, Utah Temple. She worked as an audit clerk at Sears Roebuck & Company in Provo, Utah for several years. She and Dean then moved to California, where they made Claremont their home for the past 46 years. Madelyn was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving in many varied callings. Madelyn was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, and her life touched all those with whom she had contact. She will be dearly missed, but her memory will forever live in the example her life set for all of us.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 2nd at 10AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Claremont. Interment will follow at Oak Park Cemetery, Claremont.
