Obituary from the Shreveport Times newspaper, March 10, 1967, Friday, p. 3-A:
T. W. Adair Rites to Be Held Today – Funeral services for Toby Warren Adair Sr., 71, owner of Adair Tire Co. who died at 1:45 a.m. Thursday at Veterans Administration Hospital following a long illness, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in the Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel.
Mr. Adair, who resided at 187 Fremont St., was a native of Atlanta, Ga., but had lived in Shreveport for 44 years. He was a member and past commander of the Lowe-McFarlane Post  of the American Legion, a past chef de gare of the 40 and 8, and a veteran of World War I. He served as a first lieutenant in the 3rd Infantry Division.
In addition, Mr. Adair was a member of the Joppa Masonic Lodge No. 362, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, and a member of the El Karubah Shrine Temple.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mildred Lee Adair of Shreveport; one son, Maj. Toby W. Adair, Jr., Norton Air Force Base, San Bernardino, Calif.; one brother, Raleigh H. Adair of Austin, Tex., and one granddaughter, Robin Lee Adair, California State College, Long Beach, Calif.
Chaplain Lowell Todd of Veterans Hospital and Mrs. Harriet Berg, reader of the First Church of Christ, Scientist, will officiate in services. Burial will be in Forest Park with graveside rites conducted by members of the Lowe-McFarlane Post.
Pallbearers will be E. Wayne Smith, F. Paul Sartori, J. C. Thompson, William Alfred Wingo, William G. Mayer, Neckley Ferris, A. L. Williams and H. M. Edwards.
