SHELL Sanford Forrest Shell passed to his next life May 10, 2006. He was born November 23, 1923 in Atlanta, Georgia and moved to Jacksonville in 1973 from Atlanta. Mr. Shell was Chairman of the Board of Shell Office Systems and a founding member of Audubon Methodist Church in Atlanta, GA. He worked for 25 years for Remington Rand as Southeast Regional Manager before founding Shell Office Systems. Mr. Shell was a WWII Navy Carrier Fighter Pilot, an avid football fan, golfer, and fisherman. He was a very good gardener and planted large flower gardens and landscaped most of his 18 homes over the years. Mr. Shell was very charismatic and influenced many friends, family members and employees. His fairness, kindness, sincerity, and great sense of humor will always be cherished and remembered. Mr. Shell is survived by: his loving wife of 61 years Marie; son Sanford Robert Shell (Diana); brother George Shell (Helen); sister Alline McDonald (Jim); grandchildren Robert Forrest Shell and LauraLee Kelly (Nick); and great-granddaughter Hannah Lee Kelly. The family will receive friends Tuesday May 16, 2006 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Hardage-Giddens Mandarin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Tuesday May 16, 2006 2:00 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery.
