GALESBURG, IL - Leslie L. Cook, 40, of 82 Lorraine Drive died at 4:55 p.m. Tuesday, May 18, 1993, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa.
Born Dec. 19, 1952, in Pekin to Lester and Betty Volk Cook, he married Glenda Rinkenberger on Sept. 2, 1987, in Washington, Ill. She survives.
Also surviving are his father and stepmother, Lester and Helen Cook, and his mother, Betty Cook, all of Washington; one son, Bradley Cook of East Peoria; one stepson, Brian Wilson of Peoria; three daughters, Lesley Cook of Peoria, Wendy Cook of Secor and Jessica Cook of Morton; one stepdaughter, Brittany Wilson of Peoria; one brother, Gary Cook of Washington; his grandparents, Wilber and Mabel Wilkinson of Varna; one stepgrandmother, Harriet Mordue of Washington; two half brothers, Thomas Mobley of Eureka and Rick Gaumer of California; two stepbrothers, Robert and Wayne Bailey, and one half sister, Sandra Mobley, all of Pekin; and three stepsisters, Gwynne Pirtle of Benson, Teresa Lock of Washington and Debra Halpin of Pekin.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Carrie Cook, and one stepbrother.
He last worked as a heavy equipment operator. He served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War era and was a former member of the Washington Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Remmert Funeral Home in East Peoria, where visitation will be one hour earlier. The Rev. Galen Gardner will officiate. Burial will be in Fondulac Cemetery in East Peoria, where military services will be accorded.
