EAST PEORIA, IL - Carol S. Baker, 51, of East Peoria died at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 12, 2008, at her home.

She was born Nov. 13, 1956, in St. Clair County, Ill., and married Byron K. Baker on July 24, 1981, in Peoria County, Ill. He survives.

Also surviving are one son, Kenneth (Sheri) Baker of Washington; one daughter-in-law, Gail Baker of Washington; six grandchildren, Drake, Cassidy, Colton, Misty, Karen and Eric; and three great-grandchildren, Keden, Jontel and Jaylen; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael.

Carol worked at Caterpillar Tractor Co. in Morton since July 2003. She previously worked at Foster and Gallagher in Peoria and for Peoria District 150 as a bus driver.

She was a member of the American Legion Post No. 1115 Auxiliary in Spring Bay, UAW Local No. 974 and Riverside Community Church in Peoria.

Carol was known for her special love of angels and animals.

She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, 2008, at Deiters Funeral Home in East Peoria. Cremation rites will be accorded. A private burial of cremains will be in Olio Township Cemetery in Eureka at a later date.

Memorials may be sent directly to the Baker family.
