James M. Brookover
James Michael Brookover, 78, of Vienna passed away June 4, 2006, at The Willows in Parkersburg.
He was born in Wood County, a son of the late Harvey and Artie Chichester Brookover. He was retired from Owen Illinois and served in the U.S. Army during World War II and Korea. He was a member of the American Legion of Williamstown and was a chaplain with the V.F.W. Post 8127 of Vienna.
He is survived by three daughters, Margaret O'Dell of Parkersburg, Deborah Kay Brown of Waverly and Monica Bayles of Williamstown; a brother, William Brookover of Vienna; two sisters, Ilene Hunt and Eloise Gates, both of Vienna; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; his life-long friend and companion, Evelyn Tennant; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Brookover and Milford Chichester; and a nephew, Rodney Hunt.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, south Parkersburg, with Pastor Randy Dornon officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memory Gardens with military graveside rites by American Legion Post 15. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
