Violet R. Bauman
Violet Ruth (Chichester) Bauman of Howard, Ohio, went home to be with her maker Saturday morning, Sept. 30, 2006, from the Knox Community Hospital.
This devoted wife, mother and grandmother was born in Spencer, W.Va., to the late Hattie (King) Salser and Rudolphus Chichester on Feb. 25, 1922.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur A. "Bill" Bauman on Sept. 19, 1989; a sister, Betty Kee; a brother, Virgil Roy "Bud" Chichester; a son, Henry Scott Bauman; and a great-grandson, John David Marsh Nesselrode.
She is survived by three sons, Robert H. Chichester of Parkersburg, Carl C. (Janet) Chichester of Reedsville, Ohio, and Roy C. (Diane) Bauman of Johnstown, Ohio; six daughters, Patty E. (Harold) Hauger of Mount Vernon, Ohio, Betty L. Nesselrode of Parkersburg, Deborah K. (Bruce) Clark of Howard, Peggy J. (Raymond) Rector of Newark, Ohio, Tracey L. (Edwin) Harry of Howard and E. Sue (Randall) Saiter of Bladensburg, Ohio; brothers, Clyde, Joseph, Robert, Teddy, Jack and Larry Salser; 20 grandchildren, Darren, Carla, Cathy, Jill, Allison, Evelyn, Teresa, Tricia, Troy, Angie, Jessi, Matt, Sarah, Abby, Luke, Tonya, Molly, Keenyn, Meghann and Shealyn; 28 great-grandchildren, Bridget, Brandon, Jacob, Miranda, Mary, Adam, Arika, Brett, Danielle, Andrea, Jenna, Zoe, Zack, Randy, Garrett, Conner, Graham, Katie, Alex, Amber, Ethan, Brendan, Cody, Justin, Nour, Kaylee, Kyle and Harley; one great-great-grandchild, Tori; a special niece, Sarah; and many nieces and nephews.
Violet was a homemaker and active East Knox Band Booster for many years. She was a member of the Howard United Methodist Church for 42 years, where she was active in choir and UMW for many years.
A funeral service will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Fischer Funeral Home in Danville, with the Rev. Tom Orr officiating. Calling hours will be from 6-8 p.m. today. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Sunset Memory Gardens in Parkersburg, with the pastor from the New Hope Baptist Church.
The family requests that donations be made to the Howard United Methodist Church, 23212 Coshocton Rd., Howard, OH 43028.
