ACCIDENT CLAIMS SECOND VICTIM
San Leo Lajiness, 19, of Luna Pier, Michigan died Friday in Flower Hospital. He was second victim of an auto accident May 16 on S. Dixie Hwy. about 7 miles south of Monroe, Michigan. Dr. Harry Mignerey, Lucas County Coroner has ruled the death accidental due to brain damage and lung contusion.
Mr. Lajiness was a passenger in an auto driven by Harold White III, 19, also of Luna Pier who died in Mercy Hospital Monroe about three hours after the accident. Wesley Cluckey 18, of Luna pier another passenger in the auto, was listed in good condition Saturday at Flower Hospital.
Mr. Lajiness was a senior at Mason High School Erie, Michigan. He worked part-time for the Erie Ornamental Iron company the last eight months.
Surviving are his mother Mrs. Irene Lajiness, brothers, Mark and Keith of Luna Pier, sister Bethann Lajiness of Luna Pier; grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Bethan and Mrs Helen Lajiness.
Services will be Tuesday at 10 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Erie. The Rosary will recited Monday at 8:30 PM in the Bennett Mortuary Erie. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, Erie.

Brother of Bethan (Ken) O'Neil, Mark Lajiness and Keith Lajiness
Died as a result of injuries sustained in car accident. San died a couple of weeks before he was to have graduated from Mason High School in Erie, Michigan.
His friend Harold "Hal" White also died in the accident and his friend Wes Cluckey was severely injured.
