MILLERSBURG: Cheryl Kay Blizzard, 68, of Millersburg, passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Akron City Summa Health System after a brief illness.

Cheryl was born on October17, 1946 to William Dean and Geneva (Horton) Anderson in Millersburg, Ohio. She was valedictorian of her graduating class, Killbuck High School class of 1964. She lived in Killbuck for many years making many friends and many lasting memories. She was employed by Rice-Chadwick Rubber Co for 37 years. She worked hard to support her daughters and her community.

On February 14th,1990 she married the love of her life, Melvin Blizzard and moved to Clark. There, she made her life with Melvin on the Blizzard Farm and enjoyed 22 wonderful years with him. They loved to go on long rides together, go to dinner every Friday evening and do their part to take care of their neighbors and community. Melvin passed away in 2011.

Cheryl had two daughters, Ruth Elizabeth "Betsy" (Gallion) Ragusin and Roberta "Bobbie" Leeann (Gallion) Curry. Her companion and "youngest child" for the last 3 years was Baxter T. Blizzard, an energetic little Shih Tzu.

She was an adamant reader, loved to garden and was a gifted crafter. She was smart and creative. She was very knowledgably and enjoyed genealogy and local historical research.

Cheryl is survived by her two daughters, their husbands and children: Betsy and Harry Ragusin of McHenry Illinois and their three children, Harry O., William D., and Melissa A. Ragusin, andnd Bobbie and Chad Curry of Millersburg and their three children, Rylee(Brock) VanSickle, Hank, and Harlie Curry and one great-granddaughter, Sadie June VanSickle; also surviving are her sister, Nell Wright (Jesse Compos) of Anacoco, LA and Darryl Anderson (Kimberly)of Killbuck; one niece and four nephews, their spouses and several grandnieces and grandnephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; and a niece, Denise Bennett of Ft. Worth, Texas.

There will be an open house and life celebration in her honor on Saturday, January 17th at the Clark Community (Miley) Center in Clark, Ohio from 5 to 8pm. Please come join us for a casual time of reflection and fellowship.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Holmes County Humane Society or to the American Diabetes Association .
