                  Rufus McMillion Succumbs At 62

     Rufus Roscoe McMillion, 62, of Mabscott, died in
a local hospital at 4:15 p.m. Saturday after a long
illness.
     He was born at Mabscott, Oct. 23, 1906, the son
of the late Quincy and Callie Hylton McMillion.
     He worked for National Mine Service for 20 years
and, prior to his retirement in 1970, was employed
for the West Virginia Turnpike.
     He was married to the former Margie Collins,
who survives him at home.
     Survivors, other than his wife, are one daughter,
Mrs. Russell (Norma) Rogers of Mabscott; one son,
Pat. Victor McMillion of Beckley; one sister, Thelma
Hankins of Beckley; one brother, Elwood of Beckley,
and five grandchildren.
     Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday
at the Melton Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Jim
Howard Franklin officiating. Burial will follow in
Sunset Memorial Park.
     Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 until
9:30 p.m. today.
     Pallbearers will be Bill Ford, Gene Reed, Ralph
Hinson, Kenneth Kincaid, Robert McDowell, Basil
Hall, and Paul Gunter.
