A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Rock Island National Cemetery. Those wishing to attend should gather at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday at McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5th at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
Born on October 17, 1946 in Davenport, Chuck was the son of Robert W. and Thelma G. (Hill) Broderick. On December 3, 1966 in Huntsville, AL, he married Rejeana Turner.
Chuck served his country in the United States Army from 1965 – 1968 during the Viet Nam War. He worked as an overhead crane operator for 23 years at Sivyer Steel in Bettendorf. In his earlier days, Chuck enjoyed riding horses. He enjoyed gambling at the boat and crossword puzzles. Chuck cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Rejeana; daughters, Tawna Broderick of Davenport, Robin (Rick) Rhodes of Davenport and Kelly (Joe) Pearson of Bettendorf; seven grandchildren, Cody, Tayler, Garett, Ryan, Leighton, Noah and Nathen; sister, Barbara (Tom) Butenschoen of Blue Grass and brothers, Robert (Joan) Broderick and Kevin Broderick, both of Bettendorf.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Jim and Gary.
