Foote, Elizabeth Louisa: Librarian. Daughter of Rev. John B. and Louisa (Young) Foote; born Aug. 23, 1866, at Rome, N. Y.
After two years's study at Wellesley College, received A.B. at Syracuse Univ. and B.L.S. at N. Y. State Library School. Wrote two books in connection with library work: "The Librarian of the Sunday School," and "Strengthening the Sunday School Library."
After a year spent in teaching in Canandaigua, N. Y., became examiner in mathematics, N. Y State Regents' Office, then served on staff of N. Y. State Library for three years, also aiding in organization of local libraries. Since 1897 has been with N. Y. Pub. Library, chiefly engaged as instructor of training class. belongs to Women's University Club.
