Major League Baseball Player. He was a catcher for three teams in nine seasons in the majors. Meyers played with the New York Giants (1909 to 1915), Brooklyn Robins (1916 to 1917), and finished with the Boston Braves (1917). In 2,834 plate appearances he batted .291 with 363 runs batted in and 14 home runs. From 1911 to 1913, he hit over .300 three straight years and finished third in the voting for Most Valuable Player as the Giants went to three straight World Series. He was the principal catcher for Hall of Famer Christy Mathewson. He was a Cahuilla Indian. (bio by: Mel Bashore)
