My great grandmother.
Daughter of Richard Hickam and his first wife.
She married Wayne Foster, son of David Foster and Ursula Woodford, as his first wife.
Go your way to the land of the Ancestors,
where they wait for you with open arms, there on the edge between this world and the next.
See; there they stand.
Ancestral spirits, welcome this one
to the place where we all must go.
"Her grave is in the Old Log Providence Cemetery about six miles south of Columbia. My father, David Foster, relates how well he remembers her burial and the family going back a day or so later to have her grave opened and to place the baby with her." (Lulu Foster Smith)
"Old Log Providence is a black cemetery and as far as I know no whites are buried there. Since she did die at Providence it is likely that she also is buried at Old Union. A lot of persons who lived in the vicinity of Providence are buried at Old Union. Old Log Providence is in the Ashland vicinity." (Ethelda Henry)
