My (Elizabeth Tilton) great-great-grandfather. Son of Francis Brandon Sr. and Sarah Scott. He married (1) my great-great-grandmother Jane Holt, daughter of Timothy Holt and Elizabeth Chambers, on January 10, 1811 in Halifax, Virginia and (2) Eliza Ann Newman, widow of Thomas Dozier on April 1859 in Callaway County, Missouri.
Go your way to the land of the Ancestors, where they wait for you with open arms, there on the edge between this world and the next. See; there they stand. Ancestral spirits, welcome this one to the place where we all must go.
This is what the 1984 history of Callaway County says about Dry Fork, written by Kathyrn Holt:
"Dry Fork is located two and one half miles north and west of Guthrie, Missouri. Its members and friends can be both pleased and proud of the beauty and convenience of the church building. Dry Fork was organized in 1847 and has been a leader in Christian fellowship for the surrounding community. Much is due to the deep religious conviction of both pastors and lay people who have served since the church was first organized."
