Birth: Sep. 29, 1959, Chile
Death: May 25, 2002
Salt Lake City
Salt Lake County
Utah, USA

We lost our beautiful daughter, sister, wife, teacher and friend of all creatures on Saturday, May 25, 2002, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Janie also known as Miss Jane to many children in the valley, was a bright light in many peoples lives.

Jane was born on Sept. 29, 1959 in Potrerillos, Chile to Tom and Lina Dudley. She came to Salt Lake City in 1971 with her family when her father was transferred with the Anaconda Copper

Janie graduated from Olympus High School in 1978, attended the University of Utah for two years where she was affiliated with the Phi Mu Sorority and then discovered her main love, teaching children.

She was trained in the Montessori Method and taught at several schools throughout the valley, more recently at Morningside and Oakridge Elementary.

Janie had an aura about her that touched all she met, especially her students, to whom she became a dear and special friend.
Janie will be remembered as one of the most loving and giving people with a smile you could never forget.

She accepted everyone and never had a bad word to say.
She was enthusiastic and energetic, always trying to keep up with her students.

Janie married Quinn Hardcastle on August 12, 1995 in Salt Lake City; she was the love of his life. Her favorite times included time spent in the nearby canyons, especially Snowbird, where she would often go with Quinn; Marble Canyon, Arizona where she worked one summer for Marble Canyon Lodge, and the memory of catching her first fish on a green jelly bean on the Colorado River at Lee's Ferry.

Janie will be missed for her unconditional love, hugs, endless phone call's to "just check in" and say "I Love You", excellent cooking, and most of all her warm smile.

We will forever treasure the precious moments we shared with her and the joy she brought to us all.
